Walking on Gold

So these are my DIY Shoes that I featured a couple days ago and now I am finally showing them off... kind of. You may have seen the above pic on My Instagram feed so here's what I styled them with!

White denim blazer (from forever ago) FCUK

Another necklace and matching earrings (can't see them) I got for my birthday!

Yeah I did get my 5 year old to take these pics for me on my iPhone so they are a bit blurry and we got a lil bit of her hair in it as well... but I think she is pretty awesome for being such a good sport and having to hear Mommy say 'Just one more' about 15 times. Love you Beetle Bug!

My hubs pants that I borrowed for the day... they are soooo comfy!

I DO have a head!!!

Well thats about all ya get! I will try to post better pics next time!

Dreaming... then DIY'ing my own ZaraChoos

So as much as I adore these Jimmy Choos  and I really love the look of the Zara asymmetric shoe (I mean really who doesn't think these are super SEXY?!)  I thought I would get a little crafty and combine the two aspects that I love as well as save a couple bucks while I was at it. Well.... about $600 actually. So I grabbed an old pair of shoes that have been hanging out in my closet for about 6 years and decided to get to it!

Here's what you need: Scissors Large and small, Hot glue gun, piece of chalk,  and a pair of shoes!

Draw a couple of lines where you would like to cut the shoes (if your turning your shoes into ZaraChoos) Otherwise skip down to the fun sparkly part!! Get to Cutting!!

I took a black marker and colored the sides so they wouldn't show thru as white or look unfinished

So this is what they looked like... still a little too 'witchy' for my taste

I just grabbed the scissors and chopped the end off.  I didn't exactly think it thru before attempting this. What you need to do is make sure you keep the excess leather from the side of the shoe and cut it so it fits the hole at the toe.  Hot glue that baby on and let it dry. Use the small scissors to trim up any excess leather hanging off. NOW comes the fun part!!

Mod Podge the whole shoe and dump glitter all over it!! Let it dry and repeat process until you have the desired effect on the shoe! (Make sure you put either wax paper, newspaper or something under the shoe before you do this so clean-up is quicker and easier)

Let it dry and you can put some sort of sealant on them or just leave a trail of 'pixie dust' where ever you go... whatever makes you Happy! :)

Now any suggestions on how to style them??
